A special phone we had the chance to review is the LG LX5550 (VX5550), a phone that was designed to compete a very competitive market. Unveiled around 01/4/2004 the LX5550 (VX5550) is supporting the networks AMPS 800 / CDMA 800 / 1900. Being of size 89 x 48 x 24 mm and having a weight of only 110 g, this cell phone makes an interesting tool. This cell phone comes with a 950 mAh Li-Ion battery, enabling a talk time of 2.50 hours and lets in standby mode about 144 hours. An attractive option of the LG LX5550 (VX5550) is the speaker phone, which is useful in the car for example! The screen on this cell phone lets setting a wallpaper of 120 x 160 px.
If you like phones that uses skins you will appreciate the fact that the LX5550 (VX5550) supports custom themes. The gaming engine LG LX5550 (VX5550) runs on BREW, providing cool games to play with! Not surprisingly, as it is available in all cell phones nowadays, the LX5550 (VX5550) offers both services EMS and SMS messaging. It also supports MMS messaging to send pictures and clips! The phone includes a calendar which is very intuitive and LG included a phone book enabling a contact list of 499.
The text prediction tool uses the T9 technology, being very easy to use. The High speed data transfer is using the cdma2000 1xRTT technology. It can also be connected to a computer with a cable to exchange ringtones, wallpapers, etc. We finish by believing the LG LX5550 (VX5550) to be a very attractive companion cell phone and we greatly encourage it to someone in search of a good phone!
