Motorola ROKR E2 review
A special phone we had a look at is the Motorola ROKR E2, a phone that was designed to compete the mobile phone market. Unveiled around 01/4/2006 the ROKR E2 works under the networks GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900. The Motorola ROKR E2 comes with a compact camera of 1.3 MP / 1280 x 1024 px / Flash / Zoom / Multi-Shot / Video Recorder. Summing to its internal memory you can augment it with external memory with SD memory cards. An interesting option of the Motorola ROKR E2 is the speaker phone, which is useful in the car for example! The screen on this cell phone lets you insert wallpapers of 240 x 320 px.
If you like skinnable phones you will like to know the ROKR E2 supports custom themes. The gaming system included in the Motorola ROKR E2 is running on J2ME, having cool games to distract yourself! Not surprisingly, being standard in all cell phone, the ROKR E2 enables both SMS and EMS. You also have MMS messages enabled to send all multimedia files! The calendar available is well designed and Motorola equipped it with a phone book enabling a contact list of 1000. The predictive text system is using the iTAP technology, which is renowned as a good tool.
The ROKR E2 supports streaming media being based on the Cingular MEdia Net Live Ticker technology. The High speed data transfer uses the GPRS (Class 10) technology. Connection to a computer is possible with a cable to transfer data between both systems. We conclude believing the Motorola ROKR E2 to be a very attractive companion cell phone and we would recommend it to anyone interested in a good phone!
