Siemens SL55 review
A notable phone we had the chance to review is the Siemens SL55, a phone that was designed to rival the mobile phone market. Released around 01/4/2003 the SL55 works under the networks GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900. Measuring only 82 x 44 x 22 mm while weighting only 79 g, this phone has a perfect design. This phone arrives with a 500 mAh Li-Polymer battery, enabling a talk time of 3.50 hours and gives in standby 175 hours. Its engineers included a 1.6 MB memory, just enough for a regular use! An attractive option of the Siemens SL55 is the speaker phone, which is always useful in loud places! The screen on this cell phone lets you insert wallpapers of 101 x 80 px.
Siemens has designed its SL55 with a 16 chords ringtone ringer, ready for you to add many ringtones. The gaming engine Siemens SL55 runs on J2ME, providing cool games to play with! Not surprisingly, since it is now standard in all phones, the SL55 supports both SMS and EMS. Additionally it has MMS messaging to send all your multimedia messages! The phone includes a calendar which is well designed and Siemens provided a phone book enabling a contact list of 500.
The text prediction system is using the T9 technology, being very easy to use. The High speed data transfer is using the GPRS (Class 8) technology. The SL55 is also equipped with an infrared port for wireless communication. It can also be connected to a computer with a cable to transfer ringtones, wallpapers, etc. We conclude believing the Siemens SL55 to be a very attractive companion cell phone and we happily suggest it to anyone interested in a good phone!
