Sony Ericsson Z500a review
A great phone we had the chance to test is the Sony Ericsson Z500a, a phone that was conceived to rival this year's market. Unveiled around 01/10/2004 the Z500a functions under the networks GSM 850 / 1800 / 1900. Being of size 93 x 49 x 24 mm and having a weight of only 110 g, this phone has a perfect design. The Sony Ericsson Z500a is including a powerful camera of 0.3 MP / 640 x 480 px / 4X Zoom / Video Recorder / Self-Timer. The phone is equipped with a 670 mAh Li-Ion battery, letting a talk time of 10.00 hours and provides in standby mode 264 hours. Its engineers included a 6 MB memory, just enough for a regular use! A cool thing of the Sony Ericsson Z500a is the speaker phone, which is useful in the car for example! The nice screen of this cell phone lets you insert wallpapers of 128 x 160 px.
Sony Ericsson designed the Z500a with a 40 chords ringtone player, ready for you to add all the ringtones you wish. If you like phones that uses skins you will be happy the Z500a supports custom themes. The game collection included in the Sony Ericsson Z500a is based on J2ME / Mascot Capsule 3D, which supports many fun games! Not surprisingly, being a standard in the industry, the Z500a enables both SMS and EMS.
Adding to that it supports MMS messaging to send pictures and clips! The phone has a calendar which is very easy to use and Sony Ericsson included a phone book having a contact list capacity of 510. The predictive text system is using the T9 technology, which is renowned as a good tool. The Z500a supports streaming media based on the 3GPP / MPEG-4 / H.263 technology.
The data transfer uses the GPRS (Class 10) / EDGE technology. Connection to a computer is possible with a cable to share ringtones, wallpapers, etc. We finish by believing the Sony Ericsson Z500a to be a very interesting cell phone and we happily suggest it to our readers!
